Earlier in 2025, NET2GRID was certified as one of the Best Workplaces for Women™ Hellas 2025, for the second time, in the “50-99 employees” category. What does this mean in simple words? Such a recognition showcases a continuous commitment to creating a workplace that is, at its core, supportive and inclusive.

Why does this certification matter?
Already recognized as a Great Place to Work both in Greece and the Netherlands, NET2GRID aims to maintain a safe work environment where all employees are respected, treated with empathy, and feel seen. So, one might wonder: Why is it so important to be a Best Workplace for Women in 2025 in Greece?
Research shows that, both in Europe and the U.S., despite the efforts and the progress made, the gender pay gap still remains, with women, on average, earning less than men. When it comes to Greece, according to the European Institute for Gender Equality, the country “ranks 25th in the EU on the Gender Equality Index 2024”. With women still experiencing lower employment rates than men and a persistent wage gap, the workplace constitutes the main area with room for improvement in terms of gender equality. Such facts make being a Best Workplace for Women more relevant today than ever before.
Certification specifications:
To be eligible for the Best Workplaces™ for Women Hellas 2025 certification, a company should have more than 20 employees, at least 33% of whom should be women and, at the same time, 1 in 3 high-ranking employees should also be female.
Furthermore, the selection criteria revolve around the quality of the experience that a workplace provides, emphasizing the equal and fair treatment of all employees regardless of gender, fair wages for everyone, merit-based promotions, time off when needed, and work-life balance.
What does NET2GRID practically do?
In NET2GRID, 38% of the employees are women, many of whom hold positions of managers, team leaders, and directors. The company’s CEO, Bert Lutje Berenbroek, is a strong advocate of women’s rights and has been vocal about it, as evidenced in one of his recent thought leadership pieces.
In a few words, NET2GRID:
guarantees fair compensation regardless of gender or any form of discrimination
treats all employees equally and with respect
supports career growth by offering equal opportunities for development and promotion to all employees
encourages work-life balance through flexible work schedules and a hybrid work model
acknowledges the importance of personal well-being by ensuring time-off when needed
In a world where equality is a necessity but not a constant, NET2GRID practically embraces inclusivity beyond gender, stereotypes, or any form of discrimination, treating all employees equally. It fosters a company culture that respects the individual by recognizing their needs, personal struggles, and challenges. At the same time, the company is dedicated to nurturing a collective feeling of support and a sense of community. Still wondering why this matters? Because what happens within the walls of an office is a mirror of society and can be an aspiration of what the future could look like.
