NET2GRID EnergyAI® in action: The award-winning E.ON Smart Control App

Digitalization has rapidly transformed our daily lives. Today, there's an app for almost everything, as companies increasingly use smartphones as an indispensable tool for reaching customers. However, the value of an app no ​​longer lies simply in its existence, but in its ability to sustainably improve users' lives, adapting to individual needs and providing genuine added value.


In this context, a comprehensive study conducted by ServiceValue in cooperation with Süddeutsche Zeitung examined 708 apps across 57 categories. Through a population-representative online survey, users were asked about the benefits and therefore added value rated apps on a scale from 1 (not useful) to 5 (useful). In the "Smart Home" category, E.ON Germany’s Smart Control App, powered by NET2GRID, secured first place, outperforming hundreds of competitors.

  • Tangible financial savings: By identifying potential efficiencies and "energy vampires," customers can save up to €90 annually¹, providing a clear, daily benefit to their household budget.

1.According to EON,  a two-person household can save up to €90 per year by implementing the energy-saving tips from the Smart Control app to reduce the electricity consumption of the household appliances with the highest energy consumption (statistically, these are the stove, dryer, and iron). The savings amount was calculated using the average electricity consumption of the appliances with the highest energy consumption in an average two-person household and an electricity price of €0.30/kWh. Actual savings may vary depending on actual consumption and electricity tariff. The cost of potentially purchasing new, more energy-efficient appliances is not included in the savings calculation.
