ENGIE selects Dutch energy data expert NET2GRID, as winner of 'Big Pitch'

Birmingham, 23 May 2018. In the final round of ENGIE's yearly Big Pitch competition NET2GRID came out on top and was announced winner. A panel of senior ENGIE UK & Ireland stakeholders praised the winner because of its business potential and readiness for market introduction.


Innovation is at the core of the ENGIE group strategy of responsible growth of towards a low-carbon economy. Its focus on innovation is exemplified by its yearly innovation week, where innovations are shared with employees and partners. As part of innovation week, 12 companies were shortlisted to compete for one of the spots in the final Big Pitch event in Birmingham. Wilfrid Petrie, CEO of ENGIE UK & Ireland:

NET2GRID delivers residential energy customers an essential tool to save on their energy spend. It consists of a small and smart device that connects with the smart meter. It analyses both electricity and gas consumption and gives customers insight in their energy spend on appliance level in a mobile app. Berend Olde Rikkert, CCO of NET2GRID: “Until recently dividing your energy bill onto the appliance level required expensive in-home equipment and expert installation. Our smart algorithms are the reason we can keep our hardware simple and affordable and easily self-installed”.
